Mike MacNeil

Senior Software Engineer

Mike graduated from Dalhousie University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science (Computing Science) and a Diploma of Engineering and immediately joined InfoInterActive (later acquired by AOL). With 13+ years of increasing responsibility in a structured software development environment deploying business solutions and products, he has had a diverse work experience including managing million dollar inter-company technical projects, managing development teams, learning new technologies, mentoring others, determining the feasibility of new projects while maintaining old ones, providing guidance to senior management, and implementing early designs. Mike has negotiated, evaluated and implemented dozens of business-to-business interfaces (B2B) in support of InfoInterActive’s products, Internet Call Manager and ProvisionPoint, and AOL’s past and present voice products, including AOL Call Alert, AOL Call Alert for the Web, AOL by Phone, AOL Voicemail, AIM Phoneline, AIM Call Out and AIM IM to Cell. Among his many notable achievements is the creation of a partitioned database architecture that would allow near constant update and retrieval time for millions of records, the streamlining of Quarc’s text to speech service reducing its hardware footprint by 80% while increasing throughput and performance, and winning the 2007 Manulife Dragon Boat IT Cup.
