Jennifer deKleine

Intermediate Software Engineer

Jennifer holds a Master of Science in Computing Science degree from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree from the University of Northern British Columbia. After the completion of her Master’s degree, Jennifer spent three years working as a research associate at Simon Fraser University. Her work focused on developing efficient algorithms to improve the Maple computer algebra system in the area of algebraic geometry. Jennifer took her first industry position as a software engineer with MDA working on the design and implementation of algorithms for use by the Victoria Class submarine component of the Naval Combat Operations Trainer (NCOT) project. She gained solid experience in software engineering process in all phases of the software development life-cycle including release planning, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing and ongoing project support. Most recently, Jennifer worked for Sophos Inc. as a key developer on a small team designing and building a web security HTTP filter for end point Windows machines. In this fast paced, agile environment, Jennifer expanded her technical skills working with many different tools and languages on multiple platforms.
