Accept Electronic Payments
As part of the deployment of a large US based Instant Messaging & VoIP Service their was a need to expand the type of payments accepted beyond Credit Card payments to include PayPal and Moneybookers. The solution required members of NewPace to develop a gateway to accept electronic payments from PayPal and Moneybookers.
Member’s of NewPace’s team developed the required web based user interface to accept payments information , developed gateway applications to interface with PayPal (using their PayPal SOAP Interface) and Moneybookers Merchant Gateway. This included implementing anti-fraud checking mechanisms based on geolocation, IP blocking, and transaction velocity monitoring.
The company was able to accept payments from consumers with PayPal accounts. It was also able to expand product to appeal to European customers who were familiar with Moneybookers service offering. By using Moneybookers, the service was also able to accept funds from wire transfers, and many proprietary bank debit cards used through out the EU. Fraudulent payments were reduced significantly.
