NewPace is now accepting applications for three entry level Web Developers/Administrators (New Grad to 4 years of experience). You will be working on web system maintenance, development, and web administration for a high profile and busy web team.  NewPace is a team of 37 experienced software developers, quality engineers, and system administrators recently recognized by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce as one of Halifax best new companies.  These positions will be based out of our Bedford, NS location.

Required Qualifications

 
  • Diploma in Programming, Web Design, System Administration or Computer Science Degree
  • Some work experience in the form of co-op placements or is desired
  • HTML, CSS, Javascript Development
  • Perl & Java software development
  • Apache administration
  • Linux/UNIX operating systems
  • Web-based protocols (HTTP/HTTPS in particular)
  • Basic Knowledge of TCP/IP Networking concepts
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
Position Responsibilities
 
  • Design websites within corporate frameworks and templates
  • Maintain and enhance existing websites
  • Install new versions of websites
  • Recommend and perform improvements
  • Track and report on usage and other relevant metrics
  • Document system designs.
  • Work with a team dedicated to providing products of the highest quality.
  • Act as part of on-call rotation to respond to system outages on a 24x7 basis.
